We are experts in the design, manufacture and supply of heavy-duty structural GRP flooring panels for cable troughs, trench covers and high-footfall walkways. Our Glass Reinforced Polymer (GRP) Dura Slab panels offer a low-maintenance, durable and simple-to-install composite alternative to heavy & cumbersome concrete flooring or short-life Plywood. With an innovative design that can include either manual lifting eyes or mechanical lifting arms, Dura Slab has an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. When used as seating or concourse flooring, its lightweight nature means routine inspections of the substructure can be made easily.

We offer two connection types; a tongue and groove connection ideal for narrower spans or pedestrian loading, or a heavier duty half lap joint solution designed to accommodate vehicular loads and wide spans.

Applications for pultruded Dura Slab include trench covers, gully covers, industrial flooring, work platforms, tank covers, drawpit covers, commercial decking, landings, bridge decking and mezzanine flooring. Dura Slab is produced using Orthophthalic resin as standard, but is available in Isophthalic resin by special order only.

d² Dura Slab is a precision-engineered heavy duty structural flooring slab designed to replace heavy concrete and steel. It’s made from Glass Reinforced Polymer, a high-strength but low weight material with an incredibly long design life. It has an incredible anti-slip surface which provides one of the highest degrees of slip resistance ever measured for a walking surface, especially in wet, oily, and frosty conditions.

Designed and manufactured only by Dura Composites, d² Dura Slab is extensively used by industry as structural flooring, bridge decks and trench covers. It’s incredibly strong, lightweight, non-corrosive, and offers both fast and cost-effective installation and removal times. Other applications for Dura Slab include stair treads and landings, work platforms, tank covers, cable duct covers and chemical plant flooring.

Unlike fibreglass or GRP, concrete is a rigid material and lacks flexibility. It may crack under certain conditions, especially if there is significant movement or settling in the underlying structure. Whilst GRP is resistant to moisture, concrete can be porous, and its resistance to chemicals and moisture depends on the type of sealant or coating applied. Concrete is also heavy. In the case of concrete trench covers for example, their weight requires lifting equipment or significant manpower to lift them to gain maintenance access to services in the trenches below. As a result of their significant weight there is often a risk of injury. However, in the case of Dura Slab, one or two people can lift each section easily, saving time and money and ensuring required works are swiftly carried out.

The great thing about d² Dura Slab is that it helps overcome all of the issues normally associated with the use of traditional flooring materials such as timber, plywood, steel and concrete. Ongoing maintenance of Dura Slab isn’t required as Glass Reinforced Polymer won’t rot, corrode or lose any significant colour throughout is design life.
