1. Purpose
This policy sets out, at a high level, how Dura Composites Ltd (“Dura”, “we”, “us”) approaches the use of artificial intelligence (“AI”) in our business. It is provided for information and transparency only.
This is a statement of our general approach and intentions. It is **not** a contract, a warranty, a guarantee, or a representation of any kind, and it does not create any legal rights or obligations, whether for Dura, our customers, our suppliers, or any other party. See Section 8 (Important Notices) for the terms on which this policy is provided.
2. Scope
This policy relates to Dura’s own use of AI tools and systems in support of our internal operations and the products and services we provide. It does not form part of, vary, or supersede any contract, terms and conditions, quotation, or other agreement between Dura and any third party.
Where any conflict exists between this policy and the terms of a specific agreement with Dura, the terms of that agreement prevail.
3. Our approach to AI
We use AI to help improve efficiency, quality, and service across our business. In doing so, we aim to:
- Keep humans accountable – AI is used to support and assist our people, not to replace human judgement on decisions that materially affect customers, safety, or commercial outcomes. Material outputs are subject to human review before they are relied upon or acted on.
- Use AI responsibly – We aim to apply AI in a manner consistent with applicable laws and with our own internal standards, and to keep those standards under review as the technology and the regulatory landscape develop.
- Protect information – We aim to handle data used with AI tools in line with our data protection obligations and our internal information-security practices.
- Be transparent where relevant – We are willing to answer reasonable questions about our general approach to AI, subject to commercial and security considerations.
- Continuous monitoring – We intend to keep our approach to AI under periodic review as technology, applicable law, and recognised good practice evolve.
These are aims and principles, not commitments or guarantees, and they may change over time.
4. How we may use AI
Depending on the area of the business, AI may assist with activities such as internal productivity and administration, information retrieval and drafting, data analysis, process automation, engineering and design support, and customer-service support. The specific tools, uses, and safeguards vary by application and are managed internally.
5. Human oversight
Where AI is used to support decisions or outputs that could affect customers, product specification, or safety-related matters, those outputs are intended to be reviewed by appropriately competent personnel before being finalised or relied upon. AI outputs may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies, and should never be treated as a substitute for professional, technical, or engineering judgement. AI outputs should not be treated as authoritative without appropriate verification where accuracy is material.
6. Data and privacy
Where personal data is processed in connection with our use of AI, we aim to do so in accordance with applicable data protection law and our Privacy Policy. Nothing in this policy adds to, reduces, or otherwise alters the rights and obligations set out in that Privacy Notice or in applicable law.
We also seek to protect confidential and commercially sensitive information when using AI systems and to apply appropriate controls over the information shared with such systems.
7. Questions

8. Important notices
Please read the following carefully. This section governs the basis on which this policy is made available.
8.1 Informational only
This policy is provided for general information and transparency. It is not a contract and does not create, and shall not be construed as creating, any contractual or other legal obligation, duty, warranty, representation, or commitment on the part of Dura.
8.2 No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dura gives no warranties, guarantees, representations, or undertakings of any kind (whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise) in connection with this policy or with any AI tools, systems, or outputs referred to in it, including as to accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Any such warranties are expressly excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law.
8.3 No reliance
No person should rely on this policy, or on any AI-generated output, as a basis for any decision. Any reliance placed on this policy or on such outputs is entirely at the reader’s own risk.
8.4 No indemnity
Nothing in this policy constitutes, or shall be interpreted as, an indemnity, an assumption of liability, a hold-harmless undertaking, or a commitment to compensate, insure, or protect any person against any loss, cost, claim, liability, or damage of any kind. Dura does not, by publishing this policy, accept or assume any liability or responsibility that it would not otherwise have.
8.5 No effect on existing protections
Nothing in this policy limits, waives, releases, reduces, or supersedes any exclusion of liability, limitation of liability, disclaimer, defence, or other protection available to Dura under its contracts, terms and conditions, insurance arrangements, or applicable law. All such protections are expressly reserved and remain in full force.
8.6 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dura shall have no liability to any person arising out of or in connection with this policy or its subject matter, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise. Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including (in the United Kingdom) liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
8.7 No third-party rights
This policy does not confer any rights on any person under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise, and no person is entitled to enforce any part of it.
8.8 Governing agreements prevail
Where Dura supplies goods or services under a contract, that contract (including its warranty, liability, and indemnity provisions) governs the relationship in full. This policy does not add to or alter those provisions.
8.9 Right to amend
We may change, withdraw, or replace this policy at any time without notice. The current version supersedes all previous versions.
8.10 Governing law
This policy and any question relating to it are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
9. AI governance
Responsibility for the oversight of AI use sits with Dura’s Digital Operations Team, working with relevant business functions as appropriate. AI use is subject to internal review and governance processes, which may be updated from time to time.
10. Approved AI Tools
We seek to ensure that AI is used only through tools and services that have been assessed for appropriate security, privacy, and business use. Access to AI systems may be restricted or managed in accordance with our internal policies.
11. Intellectual Property
AI may be used to assist in the preparation of documents, designs, software, calculations, or other work products. Final deliverables are subject to human review and remain governed by the applicable contract between Dura and the customer.
12. Supplier AI
Some third-party software used by Dura may incorporate AI functionality. Such functionality is managed as part of our normal technology governance processes.
No obligation to use AI
Nothing in this policy shall be interpreted as requiring Dura to use AI in any particular product, service, process, or customer engagement. Decisions regarding whether, when, and how AI is used remain at Dura’s sole discretion.
