Careers

A career with a purpose.

The only way to deliver great work every day is to work with great people who can thrive in their environment. From training to treats, we’ve created a fantastic place to work where our people can build a career with purpose that they can be truly proud of.

From day one, all our team members are encouraged to create a personal VTO (Vision Traction Organiser) in which they outline their personal and career aspirations for the next year, three years, and five years. This plan is reviewed regularly, with any relevant training and support given where possible, so we can be sure that our colleagues achieve their personal goals.

Our diverse team bring their unique ideas and talent to work every day. We continually recognise the contributions of our individuals and teams through awards and special teambuilding events that we call PRIDE experiences. From cookery classes to white water rafting, we’re sure you’ll find something you’ll want to get involved in.

What’s it like to work for Dura?

As part of our recruitment process, you’ll meet various members of the Dura Composites team to give you a flavour of our friendly culture and how it underpins everything we do as business. We’ve developed our own PRIDE culture values which we believe have a real impact on our productivity, efficiency, and business results. Our P stands for purpose, our R for respect, our I for innovation, our D is for decisiveness and our E is for encouragement.

    Meet Harry

Hi, I’m Harry, a Draughtsperson in the CAD team at Dura. I was 17 and studying at Clacton Coastal Academy when I first started thinking about what to do next. Apparently playing Call of Duty professionally isn’t a good career choice, but I’d always been interested in technology and wanted the opportunity to see what I could do with that.

I started with a work experience placement that fitted in with my studies, and now 4 years later, I’m a fully-fledged Draughtsperson and am responsible for the in-house material testing we do for our walkway products.

A usual day at Dura starts with a jug of coffee for me and the team as we discuss our tasks for the day. We use an online project management tool to manage our workload and whilst some projects need standalone resource, we do collaborate a lot as a team.

No two days are the same. Projects can vary from small take-offs for riser voids to huge site surveys. When work’s over, several of us head off to play badminton or go for a run, and some nights, we order pizza in and have a PC gaming night in the office.

    Meet Karina

I’m Karina. I’ve been working for Dura Composites now for the best part of 8 years. In my time here, I’ve developed my knowledge and experience by working in different sectors, from Decking & Cladding, to Marine, and now to High-Rise, where I am now a Key Account Manager.

It’s great working with the unique d² product range and being able to offer a really robust solution for riser void safety. Most recently, my colleagues and I have been supplying pre-assembled boxes which form the opening in the concrete floor and are built by us to the correct bespoke length, width and height of each void and slab, and then shipped ready for immediate installation. A win-win for our customers in terms of speed and safety.

In my role within the High-Rise team so far, I’ve enjoyed the freedom to meet new people, build relationships with clients and the ability to quote large construction projects, such as the iconic King’s Theatre in Edinburgh that I’ve recently worked on.

I love that I have the option to mix things up and get away from my desk to join the guys on site, the atmosphere is refreshing. I find the fast-paced nature of the industry exciting, and it motivates me to provide the highest level of service to my clients by being on-hand, to share any of my knowledge that can assist with a project.

Alongside my competitive personality, I enjoy fine dining, and spending time with family and friends as well as my guilty pleasure… Karaoke.

    Meet Terry

Hi, my name’s Terry. I joined Dura Composites back in 2011 as a trainee saw operator, when we were a team of just 4. In the past decade I’ve seen massive changes at Dura, including the launch of our fantastic new Operations Centre.

I’m proud to say, I’m now running the entire workflow for the Cut Shop at our Production Centre, and I enjoy the challenges that my role brings. I work in partnership with members of our sales teams, making sure their orders are cut correctly and that they are carefully prepared and packaged to arrive safely with our customers all over the world.

My department is a fast-paced environment which produces over 50% of all the materials dispatched from Dura. Our Saw Operatives have a wide range of skills and a great can-do attitude, and we enjoy the fact that every day is a little bit different.

When I’m not at work, I am a huge Liverpool football fan and love spending time with my partner and family doing something totally different from my day job.

    Meet Nathan

Hi, my name’s Nathan. I began my journey at Dura Composites as part of the Operations team. Back then, my role involved helping prepare goods for distribution and operating a forklift. It was a hands-on job, and I loved being part of the team that kept everything running smoothly.

Fast forward a few years, and I’m proud to say I now head up our IT and Systems development department. It’s been an exciting transition, moving from the warehouse floor to working on the technology that drives our critical operations. My current role involves developing and maintaining the systems that ensure our processes are efficient and effective.

I collaborate closely with various departments to implement new technologies that enhance our workflow and improve overall productivity. It’s a fast-paced environment where we’re always looking for innovative solutions that meet our colleagues and customers’ needs and help us stay a few steps ahead of the competition.

Outside of work, I’m an avid gamer and enjoy spending time with my friends exploring the latest in tech. I also love playing badminton, which is a great way to unwind from the demands of the day job.
