    Safe and Cost Effective

Dura Deck Aluminium has been developed in conjunction with leading developers, contractors and balcony manufacturers. It provides a safe and cost-effective decking solution for balconies and high-rise terraces, and for any project that requires an A2 fire rating.

    Positive Drain

The decking boards feature a ribbed surface to aid rainwater dispersal. Water is guided to a gutter with a floor area of over 6m2 through the clever patented design of our decking board profiles (Patent No. GB 2 615 096). When Dura Deck® Aluminium decking is combined with aluminium Dura Bearers and Dura Pedestals, a fully Class A2 fire-rated flooring system can be achieved. The patent-pending, innovative tongue-and-groove design of Dura Deck Aluminium Positive-Drain features a double skin with an attractive grooved surface and a uniform underside to prevent water egress below the deck. With a 150mm visible face, Dura Deck Aluminium Positive-Drain offers an integrated drainage system, channelling water away from your structure to create a beautiful, low-maintenance deck and a usable, dry space below, whilst simultaneously creating an attractive integrated soffit detail.

    Free Draining

The innovative Dura Deck Aluminium Free-Drain 18mm integrates seamlessly with our aluminium joist and pedestal system to meet even the lowest of build-up heights, and our proprietary fixing clip can be used to create a free draining balcony installation.

    Cool Underfoot & Anti-Slip

A lightweight profile means it is ideal for new builds as well as refurbishments where the fire ratings of existing 28mm timber decking are insufficient. The unique surface keeps cool in hot weather and has low slip potential in all directions.

    Suited to Off-Site Manufacturing Techniques

The decking boards feature a grooved surface to aid rainwater dispersal and are particularly suited for use with ‘slide-on‘ cassette balconies. The majority of the decking boards can be installed during off-site manufacture, with the remaining boards sliding in as the balcony is lifted into place, improving the speed, quality and safety of the decking installation process, and reducing labour costs on-site.

    Advanced Structural Performance

The lightweight nature of Dura Deck Aluminium reduces the structural load on buildings. The products have undergone stringent testing to guarantee their effectiveness and performance under both point load and crowd loading in accordance with relevant building codes. Our published data meets the requirements of the most recent 2.0kN point load @ 0.5% deflection (L/200) BS 6399-1:1996) standard, rather than the now obsolete 4kn criteria referenced by many others.

    Design Life & Warranty

Dura Deck Aluminium is part of the Dura Deck range. Our 30 year warranty covers material or manufacturing defects for your peace of mind, whilst the product boasts a minimum life expectancy of 60 years. As with all Dura Deck products, you must install the product according to our manufacturer recommendations to preserve your warranty.

    Dura Deck Aluminium Free-Drain 18mm

Dura Deck Aluminium Free-Drain 18mm has a range of intelligently designed trims and accessories so you can be sure of a simple and efficient way to start, install and finish your aluminium decking balcony or terrace design.

Because our Standard Full Length Main Clip runs the length of the decking board, it provides directional drainage. If your balcony design better suits a free draining solution, our 50mm Main Clips can be used in place of a Standard Full Length Main Clip. The End Closure trim can be used for terminating board ends with a neat finish. If your decking installation scenario requires a board to be trimmed down in length to complete your installation, a Cut Down Clip can be used to support the trimmed edge, giving a professional finish.

The trims are simple to use and provide a robust system to start and finish your aluminium deck. The Starter Trim dictates the alignment for each subsequent decking board and features a hidden screw fixing channel which also ensures a barefoot friendly deck. The End Trim can be used to provide a neat finish to any exposed ends of boards following your Dura Deck Aluminium installation and the optional Closing Trim can be applied to clean up the ends of the boards and for closing the run for water.

    FAQs

Yes. With the ban on the use of combustible materials on high-rise buildings set to be extended to cover all buildings with four or more storeys (or +11 metres in height) under plans the government put out to consultation in January 2020, our fireproof aluminium decking is the perfect choice for your balcony, terrace or roof garden, thanks to its market-leading A2fl-s1 rating.

When considering your balcony decking material, please ensure that you choose a supplier whose baclony decking fire testing has been conducted in conjunction with the correct flooring test and installation method on a horizontal plane. Don’t trust any supplier who tests to one method (i.e. on a calcium silicate backing board) and then recommends that you install to a completely different method!

It’s important to choose a decking material that has undergone stringent testing to guarantee its effectiveness and performance under both point load and crowd loading in accordance with relevant building codes. Look for data that meets the requirements of the most recent 2.0kN point load @ 0.5% deflection (L/200) BS 6399-1:1996) standard.

No. Due to its unique composition, our aluminium decking boards stay cool even in hot weather, making them a great solution throughout the year. This also means that the boards are barefoot friendly, and safe for children and animals.

Yes. While aluminium decking is primarily used for terraces and balconies, it also makes a safe, cost-effective option for public spaces and general flooring use. it is 100% recyclable at the end of its life, making it a sustainable and eco-friendly decking option.

Aluminium decking doesn’t stain, fade or rot, so will only require minimal cleaning throughout its life cycle. All you’ll need to do in order to keep your balcony decking looking great is give it an occasional wipe or scrub.

Our aluminium decking comes with a 25-year warranty and a long service life, so you’ll likely never have to replace it. It’s also 100% recyclable.

Our Aluminium Decking has a 30-year warranty covering material or manufacturing defects, whilst the product boasts a minimum life expectancy of 60 years, but under normal residential conditions it will likely last much longer. The best part is that our metal decking boards are recyclable, so they can still be put to good use even if you decide you want something different and choose to replace them.

Our decking comes with three separate components for easy installation. The innovative tongue-and-groove design means that they slot together with ease, reducing install time and saving costs. Furthermore, our boards are ready to install as soon as they arrive on site.
