    Composite Decking

We offer a market-leading alternative to traditional wood decking. Our class B fire-rated composite decking boards give you the look and feel of real wood with none of the downsides. So you can create a long-lasting, beautiful outdoor space without the worries (or work) that come with installing timber boards.

Unbeatable quality that you can trust.

Whether you’re planning a commercial or residential decking project, Dura Composites has a durable, simple-to-install, cost-effective and environmentally friendly solution to help maximise the use of outdoor space in all seasons. Our high-performance composite decks combine fade-resistance with outstanding durability meaning you can spend less time maintaining your deck and more time enjoying it. Our composite decking range, Dura Deck Flip, is a stunning product that takes two complementary colours and combines them into one single decking board profile to help you create clever deck designs.

Composite timber decking (sometimes called WPC decking) is a unique blend of recycled plastics and wood materials that create a strong, durable, beautiful-looking alternative to timber. The reinforced properties mean that composite decking has a host of advantages over timber, which make it a far more suitable option for creating a gorgeous outdoor space. It’s hard-wearing, strong, lightweight, and ultra-resistant to the elements, ensuring it looks its best from installation onwards. The unique composition also gives our composite decking an advantage in slip, fire, and mould resistance – protecting the space, and the people that use it, for decades!

You may not believe us when we say that composite decking boards have virtually no disadvantages when compared to timber decking – but it’s true! Our boards look and feel exactly like wood, so you can create an outdoor space that looks traditional, but does not suffer from any of the drawbacks of timber. Say goodbye to fixing, brushing, wiping, staining and painting; with high-quality composite materials, you’re guaranteed a deck that looks perfect all-year-round, and only requires the minimal amount of maintenance to look its best.

Find out how our market-leading composite products and applications are reshaping the industry.

If there’s one area that composite decking boards can’t compete with timber, it’s in price. Because composites are highly-engineered they are always going to cost more than wood materials for your outdoor projects. But that doesn’t mean they’re not worth it.

Beautiful composite decking from Dura is an investment for the future. So while the initial outlay might be more than timber decking, you could end up saving £1000s over the course of your decking’s life. And there are a few reasons why…

No need for painting, staining or treating

With traditional timber decking, you’ll end up spending £100s, year after year, on solutions that help keep your deck looking fresh. With composite decking, you’ll never have to spend another penny on overpriced treatments. It will always look brand-new.

    Forget costly repairs or renovations

Unlike timber, composite boards do not split, rot or splinter, meaning they’ll never need costly repairs or replacements over their life cycle. And to prove our commitment to quality, we offer a minimum 10 year warranty on our boards.

    Add value to your home

It has been proven that by adding composite decking to your outdoor space, you can increase the overall value of your property by nearly 5%. So if you ever decide to move, you can be sure that your composite decking choices will pay off!

Yes. However, we would strongly advise against it. Our highly sophisticated, maintenance-free decking is designed to resist all weather conditions, so it won’t fade or rot over time, negating the need for a paint job.

It doesn’t need it – all of our products are engineered to resist mould and rot, so you won’t need to go through the hassle of treating it every year.

Yes. The durability and versatility of WPC decking makes it one of the few outdoor materials that can be used inside. However, there would need to be a solid base for it to sit on, which is harder to achieve indoors than it is outside.

No. Our decking cannot be laid over an existing surface – instead, we need to lay a sub-surface for the composite to sit on, ensuring maximum results.

No. Unlike traditional timber materials, our decking is specifically designed to resist water damage and rot.

As a trusted composite timber decking supplier, we can’t guarantee that your boards won’t get hot. What we can guarantee, however, is that regardless of how hot they get during the summer, they’ll never warp or bend.

No. The unique composition of our decking means that it won’t scratch or chip by reasonable means, making it perfect for furniture.

While it’s not 100% inflammable, composite decking has a much higher fire resistance than traditional timber decking. Our Dura Deck Resist boards have a Class B fire rating as standard, which means that they won’t ignite or drip, making it safe for a range of applications.

To find out how much decking you need, take a measurement of the width and length of your desired area and multiply the two numbers. This will give you the total area of the space. For example, if the length is 3 metres and the width is 4 metres, you’ll need 12 square-metres of decking.

It couldn’t be easier to clean Dura Deck; its water- and stain-resistant technology means it only takes a wipe or a scrub to remove any impurities.

All of our Dura Deck product has a 25-year service life, but with good maintenance it could well exceed that.

You don’t: we do it for you! All of our decking comes with a minimum 10-year warranty, so if you ever need a repair or replacement, all you need to do is call.

No. Unlike purely plastic or vinyl alternatives, our decking is designed to prevent you from slipping on it.

Yes. The blend of plastic and wood that makes up our Dura Deck means that it is 100% waterproof. This means that, unlike timber, it won’t swell or warp when the weather gets too rough – it’ll remain perfect year in, year out.

Not always. Like other suppliers, we offer a varied range which includes both hollow and solid options. Solid decking is usually more durable, while hollow boards tend to respond better to changes in the weather.

Dura Deck is made from a unique combination of timber and plastic, giving it the feel and look of the former, but the durability of the latter.

Our composite decking is made from a mixture of sustainable wood fibres and recycled plastic, and both of these materials can respond to fluctuations in temperature. When the temperature rises, composite decking tends to have a very small level of controlled expansion in its length, and when it cools down, it contracts. Our installation manual provides a guide as to what gaps you’ll need to allow between each board to account for this thermal movement, which is a natural property of the materials used. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Board for board, timber is the cheapest material you’ll find for your decking project. However, this will need constant maintenance, repairs and replacement over its lifespan, whilst composite decking has an estimated life-cycle of 20 years, without the need for constant care. Based on a deck size of 12 square-metres, we estimate that composite decking could save you up to £3,000 over its lifespan.
