Dura Slab is a precision-engineered heavy duty structural flooring slab designed to replace heavy concrete and steel.

Its lightweight design dramatically reduces the cost of installation, maintenance and transport. Panels can be fitted with in-built lifting eyes, making them easy to deploy, without compromising on strength and safety. Applications for Dura Slab include trench covers, gully covers, industrial flooring, work platforms, tank covers, drawpit covers, commercial decking, landings, bridge decking and mezzanine flooring.

Dura Slab can be specified for use as commercial decks on applications such as balconies studio flooring or mezzanine floors as a heavy duty floor slab to replace concrete. The combination of the lightweight design, anti-slip surface, fire and corrosion properties means the scenarios for its use are virtually endless.

  • Easily lifted for access
  • Anti-slip surface
  • Long low maintenance design life
  • Fire-rated & non conductive
  • Corrosion & impact resistant

Dura Slab is compliant with a number of British Standards including load testing BS EN 124, the Fabricated Access Cover Trade Association (FACTA) standard, class B fire rated to standard BS EN 13501-1 and BS 7976-2:2002+A1:2013 in achieving ultra-low slip potential.

How does d2 Dura Slab differ from other heavy duty flooring products?

Glass Reinforced Polymer (GRP) Pultruded d2 Dura Slab Profiles are manufactured by combining resins with pure glass fibre reinforcement. They are formed and cured in a continuous process creating a product of extraordinary strength and resilience d2 Dura Slab is resistant against a wide range of chemicals and temperature spectrums.

Choose your GRP/FRP Dura Slab Product

We are experts in the design, manufacture and supply of heavy-duty floor slabs. Our Glass Reinforced Polymer (GRP) Dura Slab panels offer a low maintenance, durable and simple to install composite alternative to heavy & cumbersome concrete flooring or short-life Plywood.

With an innovative design that can include either manual lifting eyes or mechanical lifting arms, Dura Slab has an excellent strength to weight ratio. When used as seating or concourse flooring, its lightweight nature means routine inspections of the substructure can be made easily.

Dura Slab is produced using Orthophthalic resin as standard, but is available in Isophthalic resin by special order only.

Dura Slab Connections

We offer two connection types; Dura Slab Open has a tongue and groove connection suited to narrower spans or pedestrian loading and Dura Slab Closed has a lap joint solution catering for vehicular loads and wide spans.

Fire Safety: Designing out the Risk

Dura Composites is committed to helping ensure that you choose the most appropriate product for your specific fire safety project needs. Designing out the risk will ensure that your building project will safely comply with current and future building regulations.

BS EN 13501-1: 2018 Fire classification of construction products and building elements

d2 GRP Dura Slab flooring achieves a classification of Bfl s1, meaning very limited contribution to fire, with low smoke emissions.

BS EN 13501-1:2018 was published on 14th January 2019. It provides the reaction to fire classification procedure for all construction products, including products incorporated within building elements

The process for classification under this standard involves a combination of up to five rigorous tests designed to assess the product on a range of characteristics, including combustibility, heat levels, flame spread and smoke release. Once tested, the product receives an official classification of its fire rating, known as a Euroclass rating.

From best performing to worst performing, the Euroclass system is: A1, A2, B, C, D, E and F. It also provides additional classification (typically associated with reaction to fire classes D – B) for smoke production (from s1 (little or no smoke) to s3 (substantial smoke)) and flaming droplets/particles (from d0 (none) to d2 (quite a lot)).
