Our cast-in Modules sped up installation times.
Construction firm Ardmore, who were responsible for the build at Commercial Road, chose Dura Composites GRP Riser Solutions as a safe and structural flooring solution for the service risers which were cast-in place into the concrete during construction.
Ardmore, one of the largest family-owned construction groups in the UK, are responsible for delivering hundreds of major projects and specialise in London-based multiphase regeneration schemes, high-rise developments, luxury residential projects and bespoke hotels. The solution chosen for this project consisted of standard GRP Dura Grating combined with our Dura Riser Cast-In Modules which can be easily manually handled into position, eliminating the need for heavy lifting equipment.
The addition of post-fix frames and supports meant that the flooring could be easily adapted to suit services passing through and could be easily cut on site using standard hand power tools without hot works permits.
Dura Grating is a safe, anti-slip, easy to install and lightweight riser flooring solution. Purposed designed to work with our galvanised steel cast in (Dura Box) modules our GRP Dura Grating is made from high-strength composite fibreglass and is both non-conductive and chemically resistant. Available in standard mesh, mini mesh and covered grating versions, Dura Grating offers a safe and robust permanent or temporary protection solution for riser voids in construction.
Dura Riser Cast-In Modules are shuttering systems which are ideal for use in reinforced concrete frame construction to provide an opening for future pipes and services to be installed. The cast in module is a safer, leave-in-place alternative to post pour fixing and can be pre-fabricated to suit the individual measurements of each riser void. Unlike timber shuttering, it never needs breaking out and results in less onerous management, with no daily riser inspection register needed. The surface can be fitted with covered, standard or mini mesh Dura Grating to mitigate the risk of falling personnel or debris.
