Using our online tool you can customise, price and specify your own step-over access systems online from our next generation d2 GRP Access Structure range. Dura Composites are experts in the design, fabrication and supply of composite GRP step-over access systems, up and over stairs and step units to help navigate obstacles such as pipework, plant equipment, bund walling or changes in level and to provide safe access.

We now offer a complete range of d2 Fabrications (Reg. Design No. 008200554-0001), deploying the latest innovations in GRP technology to deliver the safest, most cost-effective, user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing  GRP access systems on the market.

The d2 GRP Access Structures have been designed to the stair configuration, height, and obstacle width of your specific project. Simply select your project site parameters from the options below to view available step-over designs with indicative pricing*. 

All d2 GRP Access Structures are designed in conjunction with relevant standards for commercial and industrial use and provide a safe, low-maintenance, non-conductive and cost-effective alternative to metal or wooden structures.

Exacting assembly

All fabrications are assembled in our state-of-the-art Fabrication Centre in East Anglia, UK, where Dura Composites is certified to ISO-9001 – the International standard for Quality Management.


Belt and braces support structure

The supporting framework utilises 203mm GRP channel, versus the commonly used weaker 150mm channel. Uniquely in the market, all our profile components meet the E23 grade performance requirement of the BS EN 13706 standard (which covers the specification of GRP pultruded profiles) and provides greater strength and consistent quality.


Uses latest unique design technology

Our treads and landings are made from the latest innovation in open mesh grating known as d2 Dura Grating.


Hi-visibility safety

All standard fabrications utilise our hi-visibility yellow handrailing for maximum safety, and feature hidden fixings for a sleeker aesthetic.


Strongest landings on the market

The 45mm mini mesh d2 Dura Grating of the landings and treads is is designed to be compliant with BS 6399 to meet 2.5Kn loadings (at 0.5% / L200) deflection. This is around 30% stronger than the standard 38mm grating used by other manufacturers.


Hidden fixings

All d2 Fabrications feature clever hidden fixings, to prevent workwear catching to improve safety, and to provide a sleeker aesthetic.


Small mesh holes for added safety

The smaller hole size of 45mm mini mesh d2 Dura Grating meets the requirements of the 20mm European Ball Falling Test and limits the risk of tools and equipment dropping through larger 32mm holes that could injure people or delay works. Furthermore, the smaller holes provide a greater sense of security and reduce likelihood of vertigo.


Class B fire rating

d2 Dura Grating GRP flooring achieves a classification of Bfl s1 – meaning very limited contribution to fire, with the lowest possible smoke emissions.


DDA compliant Stair Nosings

All treads feature DDA compliant gritted nosings in yellow as standard which have a durable full angle profile, rather than the small strips used by others, which are prone to failure.


Long-term performance

All individual components are individually tested to ensure performance. Handrail loadings achieve a 17mm Deflection at 0.36kN and landings achieve a 1.5kN Point Load / 2.5kN UDL @L/200. Stair tread Loadings achieve 6.1mm deflection at 1.51kN Point Load (100x100mm Square on the front edge – 800mm Clear Span).


Anti-slip tested to 1 million Footfalls in all weathers

All flooring components have been anti-slip tested for the equivalent of over 1m footfalls, achieving anti-slip scores of more than 63 in the wet even after 1m footfalls.
