Building upon our successful collaboration with Scottish Sea Farms on a previous elevated platform project, we were approached to design and supply a challenging set of GRP access structures. This time, the project called for the creation of two platforms—one at the Vacuum Waste and the other at the On-Growing RAS — each addressing critical safety and access needs for sensor maintenance and cleaning.
The engineer at Scottish Sea Farms emphasised the importance of maintaining adequate headroom, as the platforms were situated above areas frequented for equipment access. Consequently, all structural supports needed to be top-mounted, ensuring unimpeded access for personnel below.
In close collaboration with the engineer, our team provided comprehensive design and engineering support, leveraging CAD expertise to devise central overhead up-and-over supports tailored to the project’s unique specifications.
Our data-driven approach ensured that the walkways below both platforms met the structural requirements but remained unobstructed, resolving any potential headroom issues while positioning the access safety ladders in non-traffic areas.
With the expertise of our design team, the project unfolded seamlessly, culminating in the successful deployment of our d² Dura Grating and Profile products. These solutions not only guarantee longevity but also boast anti-slip, non-corrosive, and non-conductive properties, offering a safe and reliable elevated platform solution tailored to the hatchery’s needs.
