Grating cut to millimetre accuracy.
A pretty town with a rich and colourful history, Weymouth has seen it all. A popular Regency seaside resort made famous by King George III , Weymouth’s boating history dates back to Roman Times, where galleys would sail up the River Wey. It supplied craft for the Siege of Calais in 1346, launched ships for the Spanish Armada in 1588 and was a hotspot for the English Civil War in 1645. In fact, Weymouth has always been a beacon for sailors, boaters, mariners and tourists from all over the globe.
The marina attracts a lot of activity and footfall, mainly in summer, but the recent harsh winters had battered the old wooden pontoons into disrepair.
The owners, Boatfolk Marina Group take pride in their assets and their clients safety, and contacted the Dura Marine Team to replace the degraded timber with a durable and anti-slip solution, this was our market-leading d² 23mm Mini Mesh. It possessed all of the necessary attributes they were looking for; non-corrosive, lightweight, low maintenance, 60-year design life, 25-year warranty, anti-slip surface (tested to 1 million footfalls) and good light transmittance.
Needless to say, Boatfolk were over the moon with the finish and also with our incredible operations experts who in their state-of-the-art cutting facility were able to cut the grating to millimetre accuracy within a week, ably supported by our transport fleet.
Working with the great team at Weymouth together with our talented and diligent installation partners at Shoredeck, the marina was upgraded and future proofed for the next generation of sailors and curious tourists.
