Mini-Mesh GRP grating panels proved to be the ideal hardwearing and safe replacement for rotten timber planks at this waterside dock location.
Langton Dock on the River Mersey, England is part of the Port of Liverpool. In this project, Salvesen UK, who have a long-standing reputation for delivering high quality projects across marine , shipping and civil engineering, chose Dura Composites to supply a GRP grating solution to replace degraded and rotten timber planks.
The worn timber walkway was located in a area of worker access, where pedestrian traffic was common. Therefore a durable anti-slip option was needed to meet the accessibility and safety needs of the dock personnel.
Our Mini Mesh GRP grating is corrosion-resistant, making it ideal for environments with constant exposure to saltwater and harsh marine conditions.
Our mini-mesh d² Dura Grating panels are available in thicknesses from 23mm to 45mm, all with small hole sizes to prevent objects falling through the apertures whilst maintaining drainage and facilitating use by all types of footwear.

Liverpool Docks
In an area of heavy traffic, it was important that we provided Salvesen with a long-lasting product that will stand the test of time and never rot or fade. It was fantastic working with them once again and we look forward to future collaborations in equally historical locations as upgrades continue.
