We’re excited to introduce our new Client Success Team. Between them, Ant, Dean, Matthew, Richard, Tony and Jack have a combined 80 years’ experience in composites, and they’ll be helping us to make sure that all of your infrastructure challenges benefit from our award-winning d² product range.

Today we’re talking with our Marine, Overseas & Client Success Manager, Dean Fuller!

Whilst Dean joined the Dura team in 2017, his connections with the company go back much further.

Dean, tell us a bit about your background in composites

I’ve worked in composites for over 25 years, and in the marine sector for more than 30. In fact, I actually left school at 18 to work on boats with Colin Burns, Dura Composites’ founder! I then joined Dura in 2017 to head up the marine team.

You’re known affectionately amongst the Dura team as ‘Deano Marino’ but actually you work across a number of sectors. Tell us a bit more about your role.

Yes, while I initially just headed up the marine offering, I then began managing the overseas side of the business and I’m now of course part of the Client Success Team, so my role has evolved quite a lot.

A typical day could be anything from internal meetings, to being out on the road measuring up a marine project, or seeing a rail customer. I really enjoy meeting clients face-to-face, sometimes even abroad, and just listening to their requirements and helping to solve their challenges. I’m a people person so it’s the best part of the job.

What are you most proud of since joining Dura?

I think above all else, Dura becoming so integral to improving walkway safety and sustainability in the marine sector. We’re now the number one choice for infrastructure in the marine industry. Our market share in this area has grown significantly over the years, so I’m really proud of that.

    What’s your next goal?

The UK marine sector is always my first passion, but it’s great to see that we’re now also seeing major overseas growth as customers switch on to the benefits of our unique d² product range. We’ve got some great distributors worldwide, most recently a new successful partnership in Benelux.

What else are you working on at the moment?

As well as some exciting agriculture and rail projects (watch this space), we’ve also got some great exhibitions coming up: the Southampton Boat Show and METS Marine Trade show.

    Outside of work I…

Can usually be found on the water, whether that’s working on a boat or kayaking!

Thanks Dean! Keep your eyes peeled for our next interview which will be with Matthew Swash. You can also read our interview with Antony Theobald here.
