ISO 45001 is an international standard for health and safety at work.

Health and safety is paramount within the sectors in which we operate, for all employees and visitors on-site, as well as everybody involved with the installation of our products. We’re therefore pleased to announce we recently obtained the ISO 45001 certification.

ISO 45001 is an international standard for health and safety at work, developed by national and international standards committees independent of government. Introduced in March 2018, the ISO 45001 replaced the withdrawn BS OHSAS 18001 and is designed to provide a structured framework for ensuring a safe and healthy workplace. This certification goes beyond what the law requires and businesses are not legally obligated to obtain the certificate, but since health and safety is of such high importance for Dura, this accreditation feels like a natural step for us.

The new ISO 45001 certificate is the latest in our efforts to invest in health and safety, having been presented recently with the prestigious RoSPA Gold award, for health and safety performance throughout 2021. We also invested in two life-saving defibrillators, installed at our HQ and Operations Centre premises earlier this year, after several of our employees attended an emergency first aid course and raised the idea.

Our employees are at the heart of our company, and the wellbeing of our staff will always be of utmost priority. Dura is committed to providing a safe working environment, increasing our investment into health and safety this year to further prevent work-related injury and ill health. Obtaining the ISO 45001 certification is a great achievement for all of us here at Dura and is yet another step in the right direction. We are dedicated to proactively improving our occupational health and safety performance, so our development does not stop with this certification. I look forward to supporting all of our employees to continue their education and implementation of health and safety practices.
