Project: Le Port des Isles, Bureau du Port Quai Barbey-d’Aurévilly, 50270 Barneville-Carteret, France
Client: Metalu
Le Port des Isles situated on the serene west coast of the Cotentin overlooking the Jersey coastline, is the ideal place to dock and refuel since the creation of its new marina.
Dura Composites’ European representatives Metalu were chosen to provide a safe and durable access solution which could have proven tricky given the large embankments which had previously made access an issue.
With this in mind, a new marina was devised by Metalu, using Dura Grating Mini Mesh in Sand, to create large sloping passerelles. Our highly rated anti-slip Grating was chosen for these angled gangways to provide safe access for users.
Perfect for hazardous environments, Dura Grating is non-corrosive, and with a 60-year design life, choosing it for this project meant that Port des Isles had a marina that was built to last.
The smaller holes on Dura Grating Mini Mesh provide safe access to those with small animals, whilst still offering improved light transmittance to support the needs of diverse marine life.
The beauty of using the Dura Grating Mini Mesh panels, was that it enabled access to the services below. This provided the perfect solution for the fuel pontoons that were to be installed.
The anti-slip but low abrasive grit on the Mini Mesh was ideally suited for protecting the pumps. Refueling at a marina has never been easier.
Commenting on the project, Dean Fuller, Marine & Leisure Sales Manager at Dura Composites said;
