Dura Composites Wins Big at Blue Ribbon Awards

By Marie-Ann Capps October 8, 2019

We are celebrating after winning big at the 2019 Tendring Blue Ribbon Awards.

Held at the Prince’s Theatre in Clacton on Sea, the awards recognise the individuals and companies throughout Tendring who are making a positive contribution to the local community whilst boosting employment and delivering measurable impact to the local economy.

Having previously won Employer of the Year at the 2018 awards, we were immensely proud to be named as the winner of the 2019 Innovation in Design and Technology category for our fibreglass train station platform solution, and to win the prestigious ‘Judges Award’ for all-round excellence.

Commenting on the dual win, Stuart Burns, our Managing Director said;

“The gap between the UK’s trains and platforms is getting bigger, with new carriages making it harder than ever for passengers trying to board and disembark trains – particularly those with limited mobility or visual impairments. Our Dura Platform solution can be easily deployed as an anti-slip and height-adjustable platform surface to accommodate new rolling stock and improve overall safety for passengers, and this award serves as great recognition of the innovation and true problem-solving that’s at the heart of this product. Winning the Judges Award in addition to the award for Dura Platform is the icing on the cake and is a testament to the passion, determination and skill of our dedicated team”.

Congratulations to all the nominated companies and the winners, and to Tending District Council for such a great evening.
