Supporting our Local Community
We combined our commitments to supporting our local community and increasing the sustainability of our business practices by sponsoring the Clacton Seafront 10K.
At Dura, we embrace a circular economy, and as the only company actively repurposing end-of-life GRP products, we were able to manufacture 450 medals using fibers derived from end-of-use d² products. While these GRP products had reached the end of their intended purpose, their components can now live a new lease of life as a reminder of each runner’s achievements during the Clacton Seafront 10K.
The race took place in October, with over 350 participants. The fastest time came in at 36:00, and over £3,500 was raised for charities that support the local Clacton community.
Our Commitments to Charity
We love to give back, especially to our local communities. We regularly host charity upcycling days through our sister company, Dura Upcycling Ltd, offering end-of-use GRP goods for use in additional non-standard applications in exchange for charitable donations. Our charities of the year are chosen with our values and community in mind, to make the biggest impact where it matters most.
