Logistics Driver

We’re looking for a Logistics Driver (Class 2 – Category C) to join our team and help ensure Dura Composites products reach our customers safely, efficiently, and on time across the UK.
In this hands-on role, you’ll operate Class 2 vehicles, assist with loading and unloading, and represent Dura Composites with professionalism and pride at every customer interaction. You’ll play an essential part in maintaining our reputation for reliability, safety, and exceptional customer service.

Job Purpose: Responsible for providing a personalised WOW delivery service to clients by safely and efficiently transporting goods from our Operations Centre to customer sites. You will always represent Dura Composites professionally, ensuring loads are secure, deliveries are made on time, and customer satisfaction is achieved through exceptional service. This role requires a Class 2 (Category C) license and includes company-supported progression to Class 1 (C+E).
This role includes occasional overnight stays as required by delivery routes and schedules. Sleeper cab or accommodation arrangements will be provided in line with company policy.
Training & Development: Ongoing company-provided training will include crane and sling operation, safety refreshers, and progression to higher license categories where appropriate.
Key Duties
- Deliver first-class customer service in a friendly, professional manner always.
- Represent Dura Composites with pride and professionalism during all customer interactions.
- Review orders before departure to confirm completeness, condition, and right-first-time accuracy.
- Assist with loading and securing materials for safe transport, following manual handling and lifting procedures.
- Safely unload deliveries and provide courteous support at customer sites when required.
- Communicate clearly with customers and the logistics team regarding delivery timings, delays, or reschedules.
- Complete daily logs, delivery records, and photographic documentation using company systems (OBW / OneDrive).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of distribution procedures (Goods In QC, Goods Out, SSOW, FSC COC, ISO standards).
- Promote Dura’s reputation for reliability, safety, and excellent customer service through every delivery.
- Support the Logistics Manager and wider team with routing, scheduling, and load-planning efficiency.
Driver Safety & Vehicle Standards
- Drive safely and legally at all times, complying with UK road transport regulations and the Highway Code.
- Fully comply with Driver CPC, Digital Tachograph, and Working Time Directive regulations.
- Conduct daily walk-around vehicle checks, record defects, and ensure vehicles remain clean, roadworthy, and presentable.
- Use GPS navigation and route planning to optimise delivery schedules and reduce downtime.
- Ensure all loads are evenly distributed, safely secured, and within legal weight limits.
- Take additional care when driving in adverse weather or on unfamiliar routes.
- Ensure safe use of cranes, lifting accessories, and load-handling equipment once trained and authorised.
- Report any incidents, near misses, or defects immediately to the Logistics Manager.
- For Senior Logistics Drivers: may be required to operate other Dura vehicles, including Class 2 or 7.5-tonne units, as needed to support operational requirements.
Health & Safety
- Always wear and maintain the correct PPE in accordance with company policy and SSOW.
- Follow all site safety procedures, including safe-loading and unloading practices at customer sites.
- Ensure all lifting and handling equipment is used safely and maintained under PUWER and LOLER regulations.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards in the vehicle and at the Operations Centre.
- Support departmental goals by using the correct tools and working to required deadlines.
- Take personal responsibility for safety, reporting any hazards or unsafe behaviors promptly.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
- Full, clean UK driving licence (Category C) for Class 2 vehicles required.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a delivery or logistics role.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Good eyesight, hearing, and timekeeping.
- CSCS card preferred, but not essential.
- Understanding of safe load securing and manual handling.
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
- Ability to work independently and represent Dura professionally on customer sites.

Basic Salary
£36,000 – £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
NPGSBS
Potential to earn 10% of Basic salary, following one year’s service as part of the companywide Net Profit Gain Share Bonus System (NPGSBS)
