Lead Installer

As a Lead Installer, your main responsibility is to lead a team of Installers and Install Support Operatives on a single project, ensuring the safe and timely installation of GRP riser flooring in accordance with relevant internal processes and external standards. You will work closely with the Dura Site Manager to adhere to the agreed method and specifications for each project and ensure efficient use of materials and labour to meet project specifications and timelines. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring the condition and inventory of materials, tools, and health and safety equipment, and promptly reporting any needs for resupply to the project lead to prevent productivity delays.


Key Duties

  • Read and accurately interpret programs, drawings, and technical specifications to understand project requirements.
  • Appropriately share build programs with team members to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Set out risers accurately and ensure precise positioning.
  • Cut and prefabricate materials according to specifications and project needs.
  • Fit components in accordance with contractor and company specifications, ensuring precise installation.
  • Take a leadership role on-site, guiding and coordinating a team to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Represent dura at daily briefings using leadership collaboration skills with experience in coordinating on-site operations.
  • Prioritise safety, health, and environmental considerations on the job site, taking ownership and responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and daily briefings to communicate important information and ensure the project team is well-informed.
  • Maintain quality control procedures throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Proactively identify and address problems that arise during the project, finding effective solutions to maintain progress.
  • Report any defects that occur during the project in accordance with the ISO 9001 continuous improvement system.
  • Utilise the correct tools and equipment necessary to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Contribute to the achievement of departmental targets by meeting deadlines and maintaining productivity.
  • Wear and utilise personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, in accordance with company guidelines and industry regulations, for a professional appearance at all times.
  • Follow all health and safety requirements, including but not limited to, safe operating procedures (SSOW), equipment inspections (PUWER & LOLER regs), and incident reporting.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment, as per the manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

  • Proven experience as a Construction Fitter or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Full UK Driving licence or working towards having one is essential.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret programs, drawings, and technical specifications accurately.
  • Proficient in setting out risers and working with various construction materials.
  • Excellent fitting skills and the ability to follow contractor and company specifications precisely.
  • Leadership abilities and experience in coordinating on-site operations.
  • Commitment to safety, health, and environmental practices.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on maintaining high-quality standards.

approx 07:00 – 16:00 (35-45 hrs per week)

Basic Salary

£31,500 – £35,000 per annum based on 35 hours per week (depending on experience)

NPGSBS

Potential to earn 10% of Basic salary, following one year’s service as part of the companywide Net Profit Gain Share Bonus System (NPGSBS)

Total Package

£34,650 – £38,500 per annum (depending on experience)

Holidays

20 days per year plus 8 bank holidays
(Option to purchase 5 additional days per year)
