The Dura Composites team has successfully supplied GRP solutions to customers from all over the water industry including sewerage, wastewater and water treatment works.
The unique blend of advantages of fibreglass (Glass Reinforced Polymer) has allowed it to successfully replace traditional materials like wood, aluminium, and steel that have short lifecycles without regular maintenance and can need regular replacement. GRP has impressive strength-to-weight load-bearing performance versus steel and unlike steel is not subject to oxidation or corrosion and does not require painting or galvanizing.
Applications for GRP in the water industry include access structures, ladders, trough covers and raised walkways. GRP composites offer excellent strength and stiffness but are also lightweight and have a long design life (often in excess of sixty years) to help ensure that assets are fit for the future and that the operation of each facility is as efficient and economical as possible.
With the adoption of building information modelling (BIM) increasing rapidly in the water industry, we can support your design methodology through the provision of enhanced product data in the NBS standardised specification format via NBS Source.
