Safety Handrailing

Our Fabrication Handrailing is made from our market-leading d² Dura Profile Components, and our Key Clamp Modular Handrailing is made from a series of easy to use GRP components, many of which are pre-assembled for speed of installation. Both types of handrail allow the installer to benefit from simple construction and have warm-to-the-touch surfaces.

GRP Fabrication Handrailing

Uniquely in the market, all our d² Fabrication Handrailing profile components meet the E23 grade performance requirement of the BS EN 13706 standard (which covers the specification of GRP pultruded profiles) and provide greater strength and consistent quality. Dura Profile can be also used to create commercial railing systems for applications such as refuge platforms, embankment staircases, work platforms, and can be used as walkway handrails and guardrails. They are also non-sparking, non-corrosive and non-conductive. Either system can be specified in high visibility safety yellow or grey (RAL 7043) colours that will never need painting, staining or galvanising.

The GRP handrail components are produced in lightweight fibreglass sections that are easy to transport and handle. Systems can be prefabricated at our Head Office and delivered to site to be installed by on-site personnel using standard hand power tools, saving you time and money. As well as handrails, Dura Profile can also be used to fabricate self-closing or free swinging gates for the ultimate access and safety solution.

GRP Key Clamp Handrailing – Pre-assembled to save you time.

Dura Composites’ Fibreglass Key Clamp Modular Handrailing is manufactured using Top Rail, Mid Rail and Upright Tubular Components. The use of Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) makes GRP Key Clamp Modular Handrailing an ideal alternative to conventional galvanised steel key-clamp handrail systems, which are not suited to electrified environments for example, due to their ability to conduct electricity.

Dura Key Clamp handrailing by contrast is non-conductive and non-corrosive and is perfect for protecting hazardous storage areas, fuel tanks, chemical stores, bunds, high voltage areas, disabled access ramps, railway sidings, platforms and walkway edges. Despite its lightweight properties, GRP handrailing offers impressive strength-to-weight and load-bearing performance.

The sections are joined using moulded GRP fittings which are connected to the tube using stainless steel bolts which are typically supplied with your modular key clamp handrail order. The wide range of connectors in our standard range means that Dura Composites’ modular handrails can be installed quickly and easily in a variety of settings. The GRP material has no pass-on value, so offers a much reduced risk of theft versus steel or other materials.

Dura Composites now offer pre-assembled 1.1m high handrail components in a waterproof palletised crate system. Pre-assembling 3 key parts (Mid Upright-Side Mount, End Upright-Side Mount, Mid Upright-Top Mount) not only speeds up deliveries but adds huge improvements to on-site installation speed. The wide range of connectors in our standard range means the handrails can be installed quickly and easily in a variety of settings to provide worker or general public safety.
