Project: Railway Station Canopy Works
This railway station has 4 platforms, 3 of which feature platform canopies with decorative dagger boards (also sometimes known as valancing).
In 2019, work began on refurbishing the station, including replacing the existing timber dagger boards which were badly rotted, posing a safety hazard. The contractor selected the NEW 19mm composite dagger boards from Dura Composites for the project, thanks to their Class B fire rating, pleasing lightweight design and low maintenance characteristics. Over 140 linear metres were CNC cut and delivered to site by Dura Composites in a matter of days to suit the upcoming weekend possession, and the dagger boards were installed across all three platforms in a single 8 hour shift.
