Project: Access Ramps, Bigbury-on-Sea
Is there a more spectacular place than Bigbury-on-Sea, the marvelous village that’s slammed against the south of the delicious Devon coastline?
There’s no retreat or surrender to the lapping of the luscious shallow waters that play the romantic fiddle between Bigbury-on-Sea and the iconic Burgh Island. To which the Sea Tractor, designed by Robert Jackson CBE himself, runs to and from, creating an everlasting love story.
Overlooking this enchanting place you will find an incredible Airbnb and wedding venue.
This exquisite venue came to us with an access issue. They were desperate to create a safe and accessible path from the bottom of the slope to the top floor of the converted barn.
This presented a challenge to many, given the harsh angle of the slope on which the barn was built on.
But we were able to provide that safe solution they needed. Our GRP Grating with its clever anti-slip surface enabled safe access even for wheelchair users. The Mini Mesh with its strong, robust but lightweight properties came with a 25-year warranty and 60-year design life that reassured the customer who was very happy with the results.
Commenting on the project, Joe Hunt, GRP Sales Manager at Dura, said;
Could you get a more incredible place than this? I am delighted that we were able to provide safe access with our anti-slip grating for this project, that thousands of lucky tourists can now enjoy.
