Fibreglass Dagger Boards
Dura Composites' Decorative Station Dagger Boards are Produced from Durable Fibreglass
GRP Composite Dagger Boards by Dura Composites
Dura Composites’ dagger boards are made from durable GRP and mimic the appearance of traditional wooden dagger boards but are simple to install and require virtually no maintenance over their 50 year design life.
Station dagger boards are traditionally made from timber which requires extensive maintenance due to weathering. This periodic maintenance can cause considerable disruption to passengers and station operators as rotten or warped boards normally need replacing in situ – leading to station platform closures.
Dura Dagger Board fascia panels are made from glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) – a composite material made of a thermosetting plastic resin reinforced by fine fibres of glass, along with the use of additives which is commonly referred to by the name of fibreglass.
Composite Dagger Boards are a Low Maintenance Alternative to Wooden Dagger Boards
GRP Dagger Boards are non-conductive and maintenance free, meaning that they have no need for painting, treating or re-staining. Although the majority of stations choose either white or dark green for their station dagger boards, they can be supplied in any RAL colour, dependent on the quantity and lead times required.
Dura Dagger Boards are an excellent choice for both refurbishment or new build projects. They can be supplied as flat fascia strips or in a range of more intricate moulded profiles. They are a robust, non conductive, maintenance free product which has all of the attractive appearance of Victorian wooden dagger boards, but with none of the costly upkeep issues.
