Anti Slip Walking Surface
Fibreglass grating is the first and only roof walkway system to have high strength and a gritted walkway surface that provides one of the highest degrees of slip resistance ever measured, especially in rain, frost, ice and snowy conditions. Various fibreglass handrail safety barrier systems are available for roof walkways according to specific requirements.

Each roof walkway panel size can be specified to suit individual client requirements but would usually be at least 600 mm wide as required by HSE recommendations. The roof walkway boards can also incorporate step-over pipe crossings complete with handrailing systems.
All fibreglass grating walkways are available in a range of panel sizes, mesh sizes and thicknesses.
Smaller mesh sizes of 8mm x 8mm and 12mm x 12mm can be selected and which are suitable for small wheeled trolleys. Small mesh sizes also prevent small objects from passing through.
Panel sizes are available up to 4000mm x 1500mm.
Standard colours, Green (RAL6010), Grey (RAL 7047) and Safety Yellow (RAL 1003) other RAL colours available on request.

Fibreglass anti-slip roof walkway boards are often used to replace rotten and slippery timber deck boards. The angular quartz grit embedded into the top walking surface of fibreglass grating provides one of the highest degrees of slip resistance ever measured, especially in wet, oily and icy conditions. Fibreglass walkway decking has consistently reduced the number of accidents in all types of industrial locations, particularly when a fibreglass tubular hand rail system is incorporated into the design.
Dura Grating has one of the highest degrees of slip-resistance ever measured for a roof top walking surface especially in wet, oily and icy conditions.
Angular Quartz is integrally bonded to the top surface, which produces an extremely long-lasting hard wearing surface. This gritted anti-slip texture has one of the highest degrees of slip resistance ever measured for a walking surface.
British Standard Test Results
The BS4592 test was devised to test and assess the slip resistance of industrial type flooring intended for use in water and wet areas. A co-efficient of friction (CoF) is calculated by determining the mean angle of inclination that an operator can safely maintain when the flooring is subjected to a continuous stream of water.
