Roof Access Walkways
GRP Raised Access and Roof Walkways | Dura Grating
Glass Reinforced Plastic Raised Access and Roof Walkways
Dura Grating rooftop walkways can be used to access high level equipment for maintenance, facilities management and servicing of equipment such as air conditioning units. Dura Composites’ GRP roof walkways incorporate our market-leading open mesh fibreglass grating and our range of GRP handrailing products, which are a fraction of the weight of traditional materials such as steel, and offer superb anti-slip properties to help protect key personnel from trips and falls around service equipment and parapet edges.
With over 21 years’ track record in creating safe anti-slip roof walkways, our Dura Grating solutions are the original and the best when it comes to GRP roof access and maintenance walkways. The gritted surface of Dura Grating offers one of the highest degrees of slip resistance ever measured for a walkway surface, particularly in rainy, frosty, icy and snowy conditions.
Dura Grating can be used as anti slip roof crawling boards to replace rotten and slippery timber deck boards and reduce the likelihood of accidents in a range of industrial, building and construction environments.
Ultra-Lightweight Rooftop Walkways with Extreme Strength and Slip Resistance
Dura Composites Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) Raised Access Roof Walkways can be deployed using a GRP Dura Profile support system or a pedestal support system for maximum flexibility and can help solve even the most difficult of rooftop access issues.
Thanks to its low weight and high strength properties, Dura Grating can be installed considerably faster than traditional steel grating systems which saves you valuable time and money on labour and installation. Dura Grating is also non-conductive and does not require earthing, meaning that the risk of electrical hazards on site are eliminated. No hot works permits are required and the material can be easily cut on site using standard hand power tools.
When installed in conjunction with our GRP handrails, Dura Composites’ roof walkway solutions provide maximum safety.
Our GRP walkways can be combined with our Dura Profile GRP fabrication handrailing or our GRP Modular Key Clamp handrailing to promote maximum safety – particularly at the rooftop edge. Dura Composites GRP handrailing can be floor mounted or side mounted to suit all environments, and can incorporate handrails, kick-plates, and top covers. Both safety handrail solutions allow the installer to benefit from simple construction and have warm-to-the-touch GRP surfaces, are non-sparking, non-corrosive and non-conductive. Either system can be specified in high visibility safety yellow or grey (RAL 7043), colours that will never need painting, staining or galvanising. For more information please click here.
How to choose Dura Grating for your roof walkway:
Our fibreglass anti slip grating is suitable for flat roofs of all types including corrugated or standing seam roofs. Whether you’re installing a GRP rooftop walkway, catwalk, access platform, roof catwalk or mezzanine, there is a Dura Grating product that will meet your needs:
Standard Dura Grating:
Our standard mesh GRP grating features an open hole size of 32mm x 32mm.
Dura Grating standard mesh is available in Grey, Green or Yellow as standard, and our most popular grating thicknesses are 25mm, 30mm, 38mm and 50mm. The uniform construction of Dura Grating provides excellent bi-directional mechanical properties.
Standard Dura Grating is light, strong and non-corrosive and can be supplied with a full range of stainless steel clips, clamps and hold down fixings to suit all situations
Mini Mesh Dura Grating:
Dura Composites Mini Mesh GRP grating has all the benefits of our standard Dura Grating but with a smaller 12mm x 12mm open mesh area.
The smaller openings of our Mini Mesh Dura Grating prevents small objects from falling through, and complies with BS EN14122 Category B and the European 15mm ball falling test requirement.
Mini Mesh fibreglass grating is available in Grey, Green, Sand and Teak colours in thicknesses of 22mm, 30mm and 38mm. Other options may be available on request.
Micro Mesh Dura Grating:
Dura Composites Micro Mesh fibreglass grating features an anti-slip surface with an 8mm x 8mm open mesh which prevents virtually all objects from falling through.
The smaller open mesh size heightens the aesthetic appeal whilst also making the surface suitable for a wide range of footwear.
Micro Mesh Dura Grating is available in grey as standard, with a thickness of 22mm.
Solid Top Dura Grating:
Solid Top Dura Grating is a great choice for riser voids where no light transmittance or visual inspection of the void is required.
Its gritted, anti-slip properties and strong surface provides approximately 30% higher stiffness values than open mesh grating and the solid surface prevents all objects and debris from falling through.
