Dura Grating is generally used to replace other grid grating products due to it’s anti slip qualities and is manufactured using a unique construction technique that provides an incredible strength to weight ratio, the result is a material producing a composite structure that is stiff, strong, lightweight, non-corrosive, non-conductible walkway with an anti slip walking surface.

Cast iron grating is slippery when wet and compared with fibreglass grating and is approximately three times heavier. Fibreglass grating can easily be lifted by a one or two man team obviating the necessity for cranes or heavy lifting equipment and can easily be supplied in a size and weight to be lifted by one man.

Aluminium Grating

Aluminium grating has been available for decades, and has been successful for a number of applications. However, over the post few years, we have witnessed problems where Aluminium grating has failed due to damage by overloading causing the Aluminium grating to deform rendering the walking surface dangerous and a trip hazard.

British Standard Slip Resistance Test Results

The B.S. 4592 test was devised to test and assess the slip resistance of industrial type flooring intended for use in water and wet areas. A co-efficient of friction (CoF) is calculated by determining the mean angle of inclination that an operator can safely maintain when the flooring is subjected to a continuous stream of water.
