Dura Louvre Solar Shading Cladding
Composite timber brise soleil can be fitted horizontally and vertically to new and refurbished buildings
Why choose composite timber louvres?
Today’s building regulations recognise the need to balance the impact of additional daylight from large windows against the risk of internal overheating and glare, and as such, solar protection in both residential and non-residential buildings is front of mind for today’s architects and developers. Wood has traditionally been used for solar shading thanks to its versatility, but the use of wood has many drawbacks in terms of its ongoing maintenance requirements and its tendency to bleach in sunlight. In answer to these challenges, Dura Composites has engineered a composite timber fin alternative known as Dura Louvre which is UV stable, easy to install and which removes the need for painting, treating or other costly maintenance. Made from a highly engineered combination of recycled wood and plastic, Dura Louvre can be used for screening and solar shading to moderate the effect of the sun’s rays on the internal environment of a building.
Dura Louvre wood plastic composite timber fins can be fitted horizontally or vertically and offers contractors a cost effective, easy to install product that can adapt to any building design. Dura Louvre profiles are fitted using nvelope support brackets which provide versatile support system for all types of solar shading cladding layout – whatever the application.
Dura Louvre has been designed and tested to withstand extreme weather conditions and temperature ranges and when installed greatly improves the personal working environment and helps to reduce the building energy costs by minimising the air conditioning requirements. As well as saving both time and money through easy installation and low maintenance, Dura Louvre is also an eco-friendly curtain walling option. Made from an innovative blend of up recycled hardwood and plastics, Dura Louvre helps to conserve the earth’s resources whilst reducing the amount of waste sent to refill. Dura Louvre is also available as FSC ® 100% certified, further positioning us as a global pioneer in the world of composite timber.
