Dura Deck donation installed at nursery
Last month we told you about our plans to transform the yard area at a local nursery with a donation of our low-maintenance, hard-wearing, composite decking product Dura Deck.
The great news is that this fantastic alternative to traditional wooden decking is now installed at St Clare’s Day Nursery in Clacton and everyone there seems to love it.
Today I had the pleasure of attending its official opening and hearing first-hand from staff and parents about the difference our donation will make.
Before Dura Deck was installed the yard area was often too muddy to use. They’d wanted to improve it for a while but didn’t have the funds - that’s where we came in.
Now the kids have got a great-looking, anti-slip surface to play and learn on all year round and it feels good to have been able to help a such a good cause right here on our doorstep.
I'll be posting more pictures of the installation process and my day at St Clare's soon.
Dura Deck can be used to create boardwalks, terraces, balconies, pontoons and patios. It is 87% recycled and is manufactured using reclaimed hardwood timbers and recycled polyethylene.
It can be cut and worked in the same way as natural timber and offers barefoot-friendly, easy to install below-surface fixings.
Best of all it doesn’t require staining or painting, needs only basic cleaning and doesn’t suffer from warping, rotting or long-term colour fade.
Dura Composites is also the first Wood Plastic Composite supplier to secure FSC ® 100% chain of custody certification (C108450), guaranteeing the use of FSC-certified forests in our production chain.
Customers can now choose from FSC or non-FSC items from the Dura Cladding and Dura Deck ranges. Click here to watch a short video on how to install Dura Deck.
