Dura Composites Appoints New Canadian and North America Distributor to its Global Network

April 3rd, 2017 | News, WPC Decking Tiles | 0 Comments

Skyscapes3rd April 2017 – Dura Composites continues the expansion of its Global Network with the appointment of Skyscapes – a new distributor for the Canadian and North American market.  Experts in urban balcony flooring and terraces, Skyscapes was established in 2014 by founder David Rea and will have exclusive distribution rights for Dura Composites’ interlocking composite timber decking tiles in the North American market.

Skyscapes joins Dura Composites’ established network of exclusive distribution partners in Europe, Africa and the Middle East and will focus on driving sales of Dura Tile to help customers transform their outdoor spaces with a convenient, durable and attractive decking solution.

Made from composite timber, Dura Tile is long-lasting and resilient, and is ideal for the discerning North American market. The interlocking deck tiles are precision made modules which are securely attached to a grid base using corrosion resistant screws. The base allows water to drain freely under the decking tiles and its open structure provides excellent air circulation, preventing mould, mildew and algae from growing. The inbuilt connecting tabs allow them to be simply and swiftly linked together (starting from the edge or corner ramps) to create a ‘floating’ surface.

Dura Tile is available in Teak and Charcoal, has a long lifespan and unlike timber, will not rot, splinter or split. The beautiful traditional appearance of wood and long lifespan make Dura Tile the perfect choice for balcony flooring installations or for the fast replacement of degraded timber decking.dura tile

As specialists in balcony flooring, the addition of Dura Tile to its portfolio helps Skyscapes to appeal to new audiences who are looking for a decking product with a natural wood look but none of the maintenance drawbacks.  By choosing Dura Tile for the common areas of their Condos or rooftop terraces, customers will have peace of mind that they have chosen an outdoor flooring product which not only looks great and increases their usable space, but will also protect the current surface, reducing the need for future repairs and maintenance.

David Rea, Stuart BurnsCommenting on the new agreement, Dura Composites’ Global Sales Manager Paul Fletcher said: “We are delighted to welcome Skyscapes on board as our exclusive Dura Tile distributor in Canada and North America. Skyscapes have a great track record for excellent customer service and are committed to embracing innovative product solutions to help drive real value for their clients.  We are confident that with Skyscapes on board, the North American market will prove to be a key growth area for Dura Composites.”

David Rea, Managing Director of Skyscpapes added; “As experts in balcony flooring we are always looking for great quality products that offer superior performance for our customers and are delighted to be working with the Dura Composites’ team to introduce Dura Tile to the region. What drew us to the product was its modern styling combined with minimal maintenance properties and simplicity of installation. The addition of the composite timber Dura Tiles to our product offering will help us to deliver an enhanced experience for current and new customers”.

30th September 2016 – Dura Composites is supporting The Forest Stewardship Council® #FSCFriday initiative this Friday September 30th to help raise awareness of the importance of responsible forestry by offering a fantastic competition prize for one of our lucky Twitter followers.

The Forest Stewardship Council® is an international, non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests. The FSC® system identifies timber and forest products that have come from forests that are well-managed, so consumers can be confident that their purchase supports good forest practices.

More than 30,000 FSC certificates are held by companies trading FSC certified products around the world, and Dura Composites is proud to be amongst them. In fact we were the world’s first composite timber supplier to achieve Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) Chain of Custody certification (C108450) in 2011, as part of our commitment to lead the industry in sustainable practice.

Dura Tile Installed Throughout BMW Pavilion at Goodwood Festival of Speed

June 30th, 2014 | News, Products, WPC Decking Tiles | 0 Comments

BMW, as an official sponsor of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, has an imposing Pavilion in the main exhibition arena. The exclusive BMW Owners’ Lounge provides the perfect environment for BMW owners to enjoy a great view of the Hillclimb.

And a festival of speed it was when it came to redecking the pavilion in Dura Composites Interlocking Decking Tiles in time for the start on 26th June. Composite decking tiles are ideal for exhibition flooring and event flooring due to their rapid installation and removal time.

Manufactured from polyethylene based resins, reclaimed hardwood, and finished with an attractive hard-wearing anti slip finish, Dura Tile eliminates rot, algae growth, discolouration and significantly reduces the risk of slipping in wet conditions. Dura Tile plastic decking tiles are manufactured from recycled and sustainable materials, yet gives the appearance of traditional hardwood timber. The advanced material composition meets many of today’s requirements set by architects, designers and specifiers.

The decking tiles are quickly and easily linked together over practically any hard surface, creating a “floating” tiled surface. The tiles are not screwed, nailed or bonded to the surface in any way, so installation requires minimal surface preparation, saves cost and time and no fixings are required. The plastic grid base allows water to drain freely under the decking tiles and the open structure of the base provides excellent air circulation preventing mould and mildew in damp and dark locations.

The beautiful traditional appearance of wood and long lifespan make Dura Tile composite decking tiles the obvious choice for new or replacement decking projects. Dura Tile has an expected lifespan of 50 years+ and an anti-slip surface that meets British Standard 4592 Pendulum Test.

Featuring the Interlocking system, each tile can be attached to the next in seconds and will enhance and add value to balcony decks, roof terraces, patios, verandahs, conservatories, restaurant terraces and swimming pool decking.

No Fixings Required

The tiles can be laid in two directions to create a unique pattern. The Interlocking tile joining system is easy to lay and large areas can be installed quickly. Excellent savings can be made as no fixings are required.

Beautiful Wood Look Composite Decking Tiles

Dura Tile composite timber products are manufactured using the wood plastic extrusion (WPC) system, which provides a beautiful timber look product with exceptional long lasting weathering properties. Composite timber extrusions are UV stable, colour fast, ECO friendly, and have a 50 year lifespan.

Composite timber has a beautiful appearance, with all the advantages of wood, but is virtually maintenance free and is colour stable.

Dura Tile composite interlocking decking tiles are fitted to a strong, heavy duty plastic interlocking frame creating exceptional strength and lightness.

Manufactured from polyethylene based resins, reclaimed hardwood, and finished with an attractive hardwearing anti-slip finish. Dura Tile eliminates rot, algae growth, discolouration and significantly reduces the risk of slipping in wet conditions.

Dura Tile is manufactured from recycled and sustainable materials, yet gives the appearance of traditional hardwood timber. It’s advanced material composition meets many of today’s requirements set by architects, designers and specifiers.

Dura Tile Interlocking Patio Tiles

Dura Tile is the ideal for public areas such as Outside Refreshment Bars, Walkways, Verandahs, Balconies, Conservatories, Patios and Pool Decking.

Commercial enterprises such as Holiday Parks, Leisure Centres and Theme Parks can benefit in the short and long term by fitting Dura Tile to those areas where safety standards are an important factor.

Plastic Wood Decking Tiles & WPC Decking TilesDura Tile as a Long Term Investment

Although timber has been used for Decking applications for decades we are all aware of its shortcomings. For the first few years timber decking works well. However, after a period of time timber, however treated, will start to deteriorate and rot, with continual wet and dry cycles. Also, the walking surface can become quite slippery when wet, green with algae, or when drinks and other liquids are accidentally spilt. To overcome these safety and long-term durability issues, many commercial operators are insisting on using composite materials as a long term safety investment. Dura Tile out performs all other materials, and its anti slip qualities are “second to none” especially in wet, greasy and frosty conditions. Slips, trips and falls, due to unsuitable walking surfaces, cause most accidents in leisure environments.

Advantages Versus Timber

  • Does not split, splinter or rot
  • Anti-slip qualities greater than timber and dries quickly
  • Can be jet washed when necessary
  • Can be sanded to remove stains
  • Retains natural timber appearance with minimal maintenance
  • Needs no staining, oiling or painting
  • Minimal moisture absorption
  • Fast replacement of old timber decking
