Great News – We’ve been shortlisted for the GAIA Awards 2012

September 13th, 2012 | Composite Pergolas, Composite Timber Pergolas | 0 Comments

We’ve just heard that Dura Composites has been shortlisted in the Building Façade category for this year’s GAIA Awards. We entered our innovative Dura Pegola range earlier this year and we’re absolutely thrilled that we’re in the running for the award.

Dura PergolasAlthough the awards will be presented during The Big 5 Exhibition, in Dubai from 5th to 8th October, award entries were not limited to exhibitors; any product distributed in the MENA region could’ve been entered. The awards were launched in 2008 with the aim of showcasing best practice and recognising sustainable construction equipment and products. The MENA construction industry is placing more and more importance on environmental awareness and builders are tasked with meeting green building standards.

Dura Pergolas are absolutely perfect for this award because they are made from 87% recycled materials and are even available as 100% FSC Certified. They look and feel like timber, are UV stable and their unique composition offers an expected lifespan of 50 years without warping or rotting. We’ll be showcasing Dura Pergolas, along with our other composite decking, flooring and cladding products, on our stand (2A81) at The Big 5 so customers can come and see for themselves.

Composite Timber Pergolas

March 7th, 2011 | Composite Timber Pergolas | 0 Comments

Composite Timber PergolasWood Plastic Composites (WPC) unique formula provides the very best of both worlds, long lasting material that is strong, durable and weathers extremely well.

WPC Pergodas & Pergolas

WPC Pergolas are striking yet have traditional appearance: require little maintenance; long lifespan; no splintering; UV stabilised and above all WPC Pergolas are Eco Friendly with a 90% recycled material content.

Materials For The Future

Although timber has been used for Pergola construction for decades we are all aware of its shortcomings. For the first few years timber works well. However, after a period of time timber, however treated, will start to deteriorate due to exceptional high temperatures. To overcome these safety and long-term durability issues, many commercial operators are insisting on using composite materials as a long-term investment.

Composite Pergolas have an expected lifespan of 50 years+.

Traditional, Wood Look Appearance

The combination of a beautiful traditional wood appearance and long lifespan makes these Pergolas the obvious choice for new or replacement projects.

Advantages Versus Timber:

  • No Painting or Staining
  • UV Resistant
  • Colour Stable
  • Low Maintenance
  • Does Not Splinter
